The London School of Economics (LSE) recently introduced an online course on crypto investing. According to the announcement, the course will start in August of this year. Students will learn about “practical skills to interact with cryptocurrency exchanges”. This includes basic information about cryptocurrencies, Blockchain technology, as well as wallets.
The University is well known as the Alma Mater of 36 of the most important world leaders. More that that, 18 Nobel Prize winners have graduated the London School of Economics. The London School of Economics takes great pride in its motto: “understand the causes of things”. The main purpose of these courses was to help global “private organizations, individual investors, financial service firms, governments”, as well as “regulatory bodies” to better understand the fascinating world of cryptocurrencies.
Online Course on Crypto
Dr. Carsten Sørensen, Associate Professor of Information Systems and Innovation, will teach the cryptocurrency course. He believes that the growth of Bitcoin and altcoins during the last months of 2017 has caught the attention of people around the world. “The exponential growth and volatility of cryptocurrencies and the distributed ledger technology underpinning them has led to a global interest in cryptoassets, ICOs and the distribution of digital wealth.” According to LSE representatives, students will pay from €1,800 or $2,116.
The London School of Economics is not the only university that decided to that cryptocurrencies and Blockchain are a subject of interest for their students. In February, the RMIT university from Australia was the first university to launch a course about the blockchain technology. The course “Developing Blockchain Strategy” plans to teach the theoretical aspects of blockchain, but also the practical ones.
More and more universities offer courses about Bitcoin, the crypto market and Blockchain technology as of this year. Universities from Spain, Venezuela and Argentina offer cryptocurrency courses, as well as the University of Malta.
