Bitcoin becomes  secrecy device for the most of couples nowadays. Being in a relationship is something normal. But a survey from 2017 shows that three quarters of Brits that they have lied their partners.  Another survey demonstrates that 33% of Americans hide money from their partners.

It’s a good thing that Bitcoin has appeared, but it’s a new tool for girlfriends and boyfriends to hiding things from their partners.

Not only Bitcoin is used by people to hide their financial assets. Especially the couples prefer to keep certain behaviors for them.

The Bitcoin has become an asset that provokes deceitful in the relationships. The bigger that Bitcoin becomes, the more aware the people are about the incertitude between them.

Bitcoin: no receipts, no credit card bills

The most relevant secrecy that brings Bitcoin with couples comes from Las Vegas.  A few days ago has opened a strip club named ‘Marriage Capital of the World’ and it permits the payment with Bitcoin.

Club founder Nick Blomgren explained to Motherboard:

“The first question they ask me in the club when they use a credit card is, ‘What does your receipt say on the statement?’ So if you can use Bitcoin, well, there’s no problem.”

Even the whorehouses are taking in consideration to introduce the Bitcoin payment. The Bunny Ranch from Nevada, for example, will introduce this month the Bitcoin as a payment method.

Dennis Hof, the owner of Bunny Ranch, declares:

“There are people out there that are not coming here because there is not enough anonymity in their credit card, in their debit card, and they don’t have the access to a lot of cash without their wife seeing the withdrawals,” he told International Business Times. “With this [Bitcoin], nobody knows. And that’s what the Bunny Ranch is about, privacy and discretion.”

 

Porn sites and online dating

Many brothels, but also certain webcams services have accepted Bitcoin as a payment. For example, Live Stars webcam platform will accept from users Bitcoin and will provide maximum anonymity for them.

As its team wrote in a December blog post, the blockchain-based platform offers users a distinct advantage over previous webcam sites: “The main difference is complete anonymity guaranteed by the system and replacement of internal payment system with tokens” (our emphasis).

This intelligent method of payment with Bitcoin is a fact that coupled man cheat their wives and it is supposed that the most of people that are using such of platforms are single, but this isn’t the truth.

Public hiding place

Bitcoin is also used by people to hide even wealth from partners. Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are enabling an explosion in secrecy and deception between couples. This might have the effect of making relationships less stable (or possibly more, given the prevalence and seeming necessity of lies).

A 2012 study discovered that 60% of Americans had kept at least once secret from their partners. A survey from 2004 revealed that 83% of British women had told “big, life-changing lies” to their husbands.  In 2012, Sexual Health Australia estimated that some 70% of Australian marriages have experienced an affair.

Bitcoin had become recently, apart an asset of trading, an asset for couples to be more dishonest and faithless.
